First attempts: Printing and Scanning

Welcome back!

Unfortunately, the print we set up last time did not work out. So, after learning some more details about the printer, we tried again!
Here are some definitions before we begin:
Brim: A layer of print that enforces adhesion and makes the object stick to the buildplate.
Raft: Multiple layers under the object, like a bed itself. Useful when not sure if buildplate is level.
Air gap: Distance between the top of the raft and the actual object.

Scanning:

To make accurate measurements of future clients of ours, Kass, our mentor, thought of converting an X-Box Connect scanner to a 3D printing scanner using certain software. Above you can see a 3D scan of Jag and Elda. It did not come out perfect because we moved slightly while we were being scanned. Lighting, computer processor and other factors affect the quality. However, we will learn to perfect our scans; this is just a rough draft!
