About Us


This is the site of "Project E-Nable", a research project at Bergen Community College. The leaders of this project are Jagerynn Verano and Elda Pere, and the project mentor is Kassem AlHussein. Other members include Kimberly Maldonado, Samantha Kauder and Ramya El-Saleh. 

Current meeting times for Summer I are Monday through Thursday, 10:00AM - 3:00PM at S-315. 
Professor AlHussein meets with us Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:00AM-2:00PM.


Project Leaders
 
Elda Pere
Elda Pere is a mathematics major at Bergen Community College, who seeks to transfer to a four year institution and then start her career as an actuary. She has been elected New Jersey State President of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and spends her time working with this society, developing Trigonacci - a new kind of trigonometry she is working on that is based on the Fibonacci spiral, and working with Project E-Nable. Elda’s motto is “Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity,” and she is working towards that victory every day.

Jagerynn Verano




Jagerynn Verano is a math major at BCC and the lead instructor at Mathnasium Learning Center of Englewood. She is an active member of the International Students Association, Phi Theta Kappa and volunteers at HOTS, an organization that advocates healing, particularly for recovering drug addicts in the area.
From young, she has been involved in competitive dance teams, as a choreographer for school events and as the lead dancer of her team for an interschool dance competition.



Faculty Mentor


Kassem AlHussein

Kassem Alhussein, a CAD engineer and product designer, started working with Bergen Community College in Spring 2015. His background includes extensive experience in woodshop, welding technology and fabrication, manufacturing technology and CNC programming. Professor Alhussein currently teaches Solidworks Mechanical Design there and serves as a STEM mentor and project supervisor. He also teaches physics and engineering at a high school in Elizabeth. He has taught basic engineering and prototyping skills to students in Jersey City Public Schools in 2016 and has been an instructor of a 3D modelling design class for the B2B (Bridges to Baccalaureate) Program. Projects he has worked on and is currently working on include designing and 3D printing prosthetic limbs for amputees, serving as an IRS site coordinator - giving back over two million dollars in tax returns to families in financial need, and converting traditional piston engine cars into fully electric vehicles.
