Our first attempt at CAD!
Yay to another successful attempt at 3-D printing a prosthetic hand! The only issue came in the beginning stage, when the layers were not stacked correctly, one on top of the other, because the tube was not upright (shown in Figure 1A). When it isn't, it starts "hiccupping." Also, the rim you see around the cross section of the hand is the raft.
We fixed the slanted position of the tube using masking tape, so everything was fixed and ready to go!

Later, we proceeded to TEC-101, where we began our first lesson in CAD. Personally, it was an enjoyable experience and our greatest accomplishment this week dipping our toes into the sea that is design.
Bear with our excitement as we (proudly) showcase our (fetus) attempts at designing 3D objects:

From 2D to 3D |
Yet Another Design (from the Textbook, of course)

We will also use today's lesson to create the designs we want to make and fulfill one of our goals of the Winternship.
